2018 Boules Tournament
Sunday 3rd June 9.45AM – 5PM
This years Boules on the Green Tournament will be taking place on Sunday 3rd June
Registration from 9.45 – play to start at 10am
The format will be the same as previous years, as per last year, in an effort to give more teams the chance to play each other, the morning session will be extended to 2pm, with a mid morning break. Followed by a 45m break for lunch and the afternoon play off for the top 8 teams starting at 2.45, aiming to be finished slightly later at around 5pm
There will be a limit of 16 teams
Teams can be two or more players… no more than three players per team can play in each end. If you have more than 3 players on your team, that’s fine, but you’ll need to rotate your team members. Teams of four work well, with the ‘odd man out’ acting as an observer to call who is holding the cosest to the jack position.
Each end is played with six boules per team ie. three each with two players or two each with three players.

This years Boule on the Green petanque tournament will be held on sunday 28th June.
The 2014 Boules on the Green event took place on Sunday 22nd June, registration and practice from 10am with play taking place from 10.30am to 4pm. The format remained the same as previous years: during the morning there was a round of five short games played to 11 points with a final score of 2 points awarded for a win and 1 for a draw.
Results for the mornings play were:

In the afternoon the top eight teams went on to play each other in a knockout round the final was between Pimms O’Clock and the Trying Trio who won a great game to take home the ‘Claud’ trophy.
The 2013 Boules on the Green event is set to take place on Sunday 2nd June, registration and practice from 10am with play taking place from 10.30am to 4pm. During the morning all teams should get the chance to play each other, in short games 0f around 20 minutes played to 11 points with a final score of 2 points awarded for a win and 1 for a draw.
In the afternoon the top eight teams will play each other in a knockout round with the winners taking home the ‘Claud’ trophy.

The Boules on the Green tournament 2011 was postponed due to bad weather on the first day. The Event was re-scheduled and went ahead on 28th August, most of the original entries were able to make the new date and the event was a great success again.
The eventual winners were the Pippins, who received the ‘Claude’ Trophy.
The Boules on the Green team were at the Winscombe May Fair this Saturday, holding a ‘Closest to the Jack’ competition. The idea was to get as close to the jack as possible without actually hitting it, 30p got you three boules to throw. As the afternoon progressed the winning mark got closer and closer to the Jack. Then up stepped Stephanie from year 3 and threw a great shot, which wasn’t to be beaten, leaving Stephanie to take the win and recieve the trophy.

Winners of Sunday’s boules tournament !
The tournament was a great success, we filled all the pistes and everyone got to play a good number of games. After four rounds of play in the morning the top eight teams went through to a knockout play-off in the afternoon, with the jokers eventually winning a very close and hard fought final 13 to 12.
