Teams

As in previous years the maximum number of teams will be 16, so get your entry forms back swiftly as we expect to fill all the places !

To avoid disappointment we advise that you register your team, 2017 Entry forms will be available soon
There will be an entry fee of £8 per team, payable at registration on the day.

A normal Boules team consists of either two or three players.

  • Two player teams play with three boules each
  • Three player teams play with two boules each

4+ Man Teams

We will also accept entries for 4 man teams [or larger ], but the team will still play with a total of 6 boules and no more than three players active in each end. It’s up to you how you organise the play within your team, the easiest method is to take it in turns for one player to sit out each ‘end’ That player can act as an observer at the pitch end to keep an eye on which team should play next.

Ages

Boules is a game for all ages and we hope there will be many ‘family’ teams. However it should be noted that the game of boules involves the throwing of heavy metal objects !

It has been decided that, in vue of the possible danger involved in playing games in close proximity with metal boules, it would be irresposible to allow younger children to participate. Therefore the minimum age for a team member is 12 years.

Boules

We won’t be expecting everyone to turn up with a set of ‘match approved’ boules, any set will do; as long as they are metal.
It might be a good idea for you to mark your set in some way so that you can keep track of who’s boules are who’s !

On the day we will also have some small coloured stickers available for marking your boules.

We hope to have some extra sets available for those teams that are not able to bring their own. There is a question on the team registraton form asking if you will be bringing your own set, so we can guage how many extra sets we might need.
